Item Description
An impressive and very uncommon quartz crystal stalactite combination from this well-known Washington locale. Sharp, glassy quartz points cover three sides of this pristine 360-degree piece, with the other side being covered with lustrous, colorless calcite rhombs. The rhombs have modest pink fluorescence. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 9819 and acquired from the Lidstrom's in January, 1983. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). RARE style and outstanding quartz and calcite combination material from quarrying operations in brecciated volcanic rock.
