Item Description

Colorful, RARE and common species richly cover the sculptural small cabinet matrix from a New Find at this ancient and closed in the 1960s, barite, Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag mine. Scattered fields of striking tiny blue-green theisite botryoids are beautifully accented with patches of tiny, scintillating, gemmy azurite crystals. Theisite is a rare complex hydroxyl Cu-Zn arsenate, visually similar to tyrolite. It is named after our fellow Mineralogical Association of Dallas (MAD) member, Nick Theis. Several sides feature rich turquoise-blue crusts of Claraite, a RARE very complex hydrated Cu-Zn-As carbonate. Valued at $300-500.
