Fluorite imitating Calcite (rare style - fluorescent) Robertson

RARE and unusual looking fluorite from this well-known extinct fluorite mine. The glassy, gemmy, light straw-yellow crystals with silky luster, dominated by the impressive 3.4 cm crystal at the top, look like modified calcite rhombs, but in fact are rare highly modified fluorite cubes. MINDAT does not list calcite from the Cacilia Mine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3622 and acquired in 1964. Her label was lost during the move, but the piece comes with the original German label. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
