Item Description

A dramatic, sculptural and colorful old-time tourmaline combination from an unknown Minas Gerais pegmatite. The tapering terminated parallel-growth striated gemmy crystal has beautiful rich green color accented by the glassiness and high luster. The dramatically scattered striking glassy lilac lepidolite crystals with some contrasting white cleavelandite plates are super accessories. This fantastic combo is complete all-around and pristine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2800 and acquired from Sol Shale in the 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). An outstanding older Minas Gerais tourmaline combination with striking 360-presence. The crystal GLOWS, when backlit!
