Item Description

A very aesthetic mounded 360-degree small cabinet of densely intergrown pyromorphite prisms from the famous Daoping Mine. Sprays of desirable, lustrous, translucent, parallel-growth apple-green pyromorphite crystals comprise this solid crust from the major early 2000s finds at this famous Chinese locale. The prisms reach about 1.5 cm on this very showy piece and many of the crystals have hoppered terminations adding pizzazz. Complete all-around and essentially pristine for all of the crystal density. It's very hard to see the one broken crystal in the interior of the piece and the piece has no periphery wear. The scalloped bottom of the piece adds much character. Daoping is one of the world's great pyromorphite localities and this is an excellent example of this sought-after varietal with 360-degree presence. Ex Steve Smale Collection. Valued at $1200-1500.
