This superb pristine gem terminated light smoky quartz crystal has fantastic skeletal and stepped-growth features and is dramatically set on gneiss matrix. Every turn of the 360-degree piece presents a strikingly different perspective to this very glassy and lustrous limpid crystal. The sharp prism faces on the front compliment the outrageous stepped-growth faces on the back. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 11672 and acquired from the strahler Venzin at the 1989 Tucson Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017).
