Baryte (classic Colorado)

Item Description

A fascinating and unusual 360-degree barite from this famous Colorado locale. One side is composed of classic, sharp, parallel-growth, translucent, greenish-gray spearpoints with waxy luster. The other side is strikingly different! Here, numerous opposing blades dramatically project outward in 3-dimensional space. This side is preferentialy festooned with tiny secondary barites with an oxide coating, that adds color and pizzazz. Complete all-around and in great shape. Modest bruising on the sides and on both flat faces are noted, but certainly have minimal impact to the overall excellent quality and unusual two-sided architecture of this piece. Classic and excellent, older Hartsel barite.
