Item Description

Some of the most classic Chyrsoberyl specimens in the world are those from Espirito Santo in the southeastern end of Brazil. These specimens exhibit one of the most recognized and celebrated twinning habits - called "sixling" or "trillings" - for Chrysoberyl. This piece has the classic twinning / form with EXCELLENT gemminess and a soft yellow color. It's a complete twin all the way around, even though it's a bit distorted, but still shows the recognized form. A great old Brazilian classic. From the collection of Colorado mineral dealer and collector, Richard Kosnar - the namesake for the phosphate Kosnarite. Rich used to import thousands of specimens from the Brazil to the United States in the 1970s. Specimen weight is 8.46 carats.
