Item Description

Striking, splendent sharp andradite garnet variety melanite dodecahedrons, to 1.0 cm on the diagonal, cover the sawed matrix on this very rich, impressive and uncommon small cabinet from an unknown Chihuahua locale. Strong lighting reveals, that the crystals have gorgeous areas of mahogany-brown to golden-orange color. A couple of Chihuahua localities produce melanites of this fine quality, with the most likely candidate being the La Prieta Mine. Choice, rich and excellent melanite garnet from the Allen Dillwith Collection of Texas.
