Item Description

Classic, gemmy and lustrous, emerald-green fluorite cubes, to 2.0 cm, are festooned on the dramatically sculptural large vuggy upright matrix on this impressive specimen from the famous Rogerley Mine. Many of the fluorites are penetration twins and the scattered lustrous corroded galena octahedrons and the sparkly drusy quartz lining the vug are fine typical assessories. The fluorites have both glass-clear and frosted faces. The cubes fluoresce under any type of bright light, for which this mine is well-known. You can even see a hollow tube opening, where precipitating fluids flowed, adding even more character. This imposing and very rich piece has several fine display views and I like the way the largest cube is perched near the top of the piece. Ex J.R. Garcia and Raul Sanabria Collections. It was illustrated in Le Regne Mineral No. 34 in 2000, page 15. Value??
