Item Description

Mineral specimens from this very prominent early Coeur d'Alene District mine are EXTREMELY RARE and are highly desirable. The mine, located about 13 miles east of the famed Bunker Hill Mine, opened in 1904 and was abandoned by 1923! This is a VERY RARE, showy and rich specimen of solid reticulated cerussite. One side in particular shows the beautiful and sculptural "snowflake" reticulated pattern of the crystals. This piece looks as if it could be from the Bunker Hill Mine or renowned Tsumeb! Formerly in the Mitch Gunnell Collection, a prominent Colorado collector, who assembled one of the finest US collections before he passed away in 1986. Ex Charles Noll Collection. This great rarity is around 100 years old or older. Valued at $1000-1250 for rarity, richness, quality and aesthetics. Hard to value. We have not seen one so large for sale
