Item Description

An amazingly sculptural and colorful stalactitic calcite "flower" from recent finds at this well-known zinc mine famous for deep blue hemimorphites, excellent aragonites and striking cave calcite forms. The striking "flower" consists of glassy, translucent scalenohedrons attached to a calcite "stalk". Strikingly, the crystals at the top are colorless with the crystals at the bottom having a contrasting and pretty iron oxide tinting. The knob of smaller crystals on one side adds real pizzazz to this artistic piece. This is an exceptional 270-degree calcite flower, with the lower contacting on the back side being out-of-sight. A beautiful and stunning Chinese cave calcite.
