Item Description

One almost NEVER sees these for sale! This is a historic specimen from the late 1800s or early 1900s heyday at this iron mine. Lining a vug in massive red hematite is a druse of colorless quartz crystals as well as a velvety layer of lustrous, bronze colored millerite. A few aciular, golden needles of millerite, to 8 mm in length, also line the vug. An old, spectacular and rarely seen specimen from an American classic deposit. Comes with a Hugh Ford label from the 1940's, and ex Conklin collection. Valued $400-500
