Item Description

Beautiful rich rust-red lustrous hematite coats the sharply terminated quartz crystals on this dramatic two-sided jackstraw specimen from China and the Paul Zerfass Collection # 156. The imposing large crystal on the end is 5.5 cm and there are a couple of small hematite iron roses on the matrix. The piece looks great from either side and displays well without aid, as the base has been sawed. ALL of the major crystals are pristine and the noted periphery is certainly acceptable in the context of this very fine example of the combination species with much richer red color, than you usually see from the locale. This small well-known hill is worked by local farmers. The crystals have a fine red glow, when backlit.
