Item Description

A classic and really showy display piece of this classic association from one of the most well known localities in Italy. A few sharp and lustrous, translucent, smoky colored Quartz crystals with the well-known bi-pyramidal habit are sitting on a single cream colored prismatic "Baveno" twinned Orthoclase crystal. Obviously the twinning habit was so prominent from Baveno, that it became synonymous with the locality. The largest Quartz crystal measures 6 mm. Hard to find on the market today, especially in such good condition with excellent displayability. Ex Kay Robertson Collection #10238. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-timer from this famous locale.
