Item Description

A highly colorful and eye-catching small cabinet display specimen from Santa Eulalia featuring tabular crystals of yellow-orange colored Wulfenite with modified corners associated with spherical bright orange Mimetite on matrix. The combination is certainly rare for the locality, and this kind of association is more commonly seen from the San Francisco Mine, so if you collect Mexican minerals, secondary ore minerals or colorful association specimens, don't miss out on this one. It's not completely damage free, but it's still showy and eye-catching for what it is. The largest Wulfenite crystal measures 1.2 cm. From the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (Collection #569). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected. A biography featuring specimens from his collection (along with his face on the cover) is in the May - June 2017 issue of French mineral magazine, Le Regne Mineral. We have a .pdf copy of the article for anybody interested in reading it (though it's mostly in French). Just drop us a line and know that you'd like to have a copy.
