Item Description

The Ojuela Mine is one of the most iconic mineral producing localities in Mexico. This is a good quality specimen of excellent yellow color Mimetite micro crystals in spherical aggregates with a tiny bit of Limonite matrix from the famous Ojuela Mine. The luster is incredibly vitreous and almost has a "drusy" appearance. We've seen a lot of green Mimetites from the Ojuela Mine recently, often associated with Wulfenite, but the yellow material is older, and to my mind, less common than the green. This piece came out around 40 years ago. Good quality, no damage on the display side, and very attractive in person.
