Item Description

Lustrous, olive, flattened, tapered siderite disks are richly and aethetically clustered on the scuptural large plate of neary solid siderite on this classic old-timer from the famous mines at Neudorf. The prisms reach 2.0 cm and are nicely accented with uncommon clusters of tiny paper calcite crystals. The interior is pristine and the bit of periphery wear is certainly acceptable in the context of this showy old-timer. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3650 and acquired from the well-known Maucher dealership in Munich in 1964. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). The last mines closed in 1903.
