Item Description

Sharp actinolite crystals are aesthetically scattered on the sculptural large plate of pearlescent muscovite schist on this impressive and very uncommon combination specimen from an old quarry at Primolo in the famous Malenco Valley of Italy. The sharp lustrous prisms are a mottled brown accented with flashes of pretty golden-yellow translucence under bright light. Both isolated crystals are terminated, with the largest being 3.5 cm long. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. Her collection number was lost during the move. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). RARE and excellent large combination material from this obscure locale.
