Item Description

Sculptural and impressive two-generation calcite with a surprising bonus from a most obscure Batopilas, Chihuahua locale. This striking piece looks like a large coral. First generation oxide-tinted scalenohedrons, to about 3.0 cm, are richly covered with a second generation of white scalenohedrons to bulbous calcite crystals. UV light reveals the bonus of a partial coating of neon-green hyalite opal! RARE older calcite from the 1960s or 70s from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection.
