Item Description

A gorgeous RARE gem rich purple scapolite crystal from a classic pegmatite zone. The very glassy, limpid, sharply terminated crystal is pristine. These have rarely come out over the years. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12958 and acquired in the early 1990s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). These represent the best ever for purple scapolites from anywhere. 7.45 carats mass.
