Gemmy Danburite xls (Robertson Coll.)

Item Description

An aesthetic and sculptural small cabinet cluster of danburite crystals from Charcas. The intergrown very glassy, lustrous, well-striated prisms have classic gem, colorless chisel terminations above the translucent bodies. An unknown included mineral has a light yellow fluorescence. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only a few trivial termination edge wilbers. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1518 and acquired from Burminco in the 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Classic and excellent 360-degree danburite from Charcas.
