Mirror-bright, brass-yellow, textbook pyritohedrons cover the undulating face of the solid granular pyrite matrix on this showy and rich specimen from the famous and ancient iron mines at Rio Marina. The crystals reach about 2.1 cm. The bit of noted periphery wear is certainly acceptable to this highly representative classic from the Paul Zerfass Collection # 908. The piece has two fine display views.
