Two, sharp, splendent metallic-black bixbyite crystals, to 4 mm, are dramatically set on the sides of a beautiful, champagne-colored topaz crystal from the famous Thomas Range. The crystal has a striking water-clear gem termination with typical rhyolite "sand" included and embedded on the crystal below. A pristine, classic and excellent topaz and bixbyite combination thumbnail from the Ted Bartels Collection. It was collected in August of 1994. Little new material has come out in recent years.
