Item Description

This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). This is a great old display piece of featuring a pair of sharp, cubic crystals of silvery Galena with cuboctahedral Galena overgrowths. The piece is essentially 100% complete, save the bottom where it was removed from the matrix, but it still displays well from a few angles. It's a nice old time specimen dating back probably around 50-60 years. An attractive specimen from this noteworthy collection.
