Item Description

Galena and sphalerite specimens of this size and richness are RARE from the mines of the La Union area in Spain. Melted-look, moderately lustrous, battleship-gray, blocky galena crystals fill a large vug in microcrystalline sphalerite matrix. Not great to look at, but this remains a highly representative, very uncommon and rich lead-zinc ore specimen from the locale and has multiple display views. Mass is 1455 grams or 3.2 pounds.
