Item Description

Fine crystallized Andalusite is not seen from many localities around the world. The area around Jenipapo has given collectors a small amount of fine crystallized Andalusite from around 10 years ago. This piece features a few sharp, well-formed, orthorhombic crystal of pinkish/green Andalusite on matrix. The crystals are mostly complete, but they're slightly rough in areas. It should be noted that Andalusite is somewhat pleochroic, so when the piece rotated in the light, you can see a slight color change. The largest individual crystal measures 1.6 cm. Better in person, hard to photograph. A nice opportunity for a collector to pick up a pretty good quality Andalusite from this well known locality.
