Butte is famous for producing some of the most beautiful sulfides specimens from anywhere in the United States. You don't see nearly as many Butte Covellites on the market anymore, and they will always hold their own on a worldwide scale. Here we have an older, classic specimen from Butte that has been sliced / slabbed to show its internal appearance. You can see the iridescent blue-purple coloring of the piece with small golden specks of Pyrite inside. From the collection of Ken Coleman.
