Item Description

A lovely miniature sized specimen of the exceedingly rare silicate Lemmleinite(-Ba) from one of only SIX known localities for the species. All specimens of Lemmlein-(Ba) have only been found in Russia, and this species has an equally rare analogue, Lemmleinite-(K). The specie was named after Georgy Glebovich Lemmlein, a prominent Soviet crystallographer. This piece hosts dozens of very fine quality, sharp, well-formed, intense orange colored monoclinic crystals of Lemmleinite-(Ba) with white prismatic crystals of what could possibly be Kovdorskite(?) on matrix. Beautiful to view under the microscope, and if you collect rare species, do NOT miss out on this one.
