Galena, Sphalerite & Quartz (Kay Robertson Coll.)

Item Description

A sculptural and aesthetic large combination plate from this well-known mine. A 2.2 cm galena cube and a 4.8 cm quartz crystal are well-placed on either end of the piece. More galena cubes, clusters of sphalerite crystals and a large field of quartz points fills out the center of this rich and excellent piece. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 11769 and acquired from Ben de Witt at the 1989 Tucson Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Classic and very showy large combination material with two fine display views from this ancient poly-metallic deposit.
