Item Description

An amazingly sculptural large amethyst pseudomorph from this well-known area quarried for geodes in basalt. Sparkly light purple amethyst has pseudomorphed as fantastic large dramatically hoppered, skewed anhydrite crystal. The pseudo artistically lies on the amethyst-covered basalt matrix. The striking sharp long edge with square corners is 9.5 cm and the rust-red hematite inclusions add contrast. Similar specimens from the locale have been reported as fluorite pseudos, but the Ken Roberts Pseudomorph Collection label lists this as anhydrite. A spectacular, pristine and rare large 360-degree pseudomorph. Valued at $1500-1750 and well worth it.
