Item Description

An impressive and highly unusual large partial calcite cleavage rhomb from this well-known extinct uranium mine. Three of the eight rhomb faces are natural - opaque, coated, moderately lustrous with some embedded chalcopryite. The other five, highly lustrous faces are cleavages. Strikingly, one corner of the rhomb is water-clear. Surreal long green filaments (chlorite?) look like sea grass and grow toward the gem corner. An other worldly accessory to the gem corner are the stacked clusters and floating crystals of bright chalcopyrite crystals. A most strange and fascinating large calcite combination.
