Item Description

Aragonite is EXTREMELY RARE from the famous mines at Dal'negork. The MINDAT Photo Gallery for the locale features 2037 specimens, but NO aragonite photos. The literature cites rare aragonite specimens from the Verchniy and 2nd Sovetskii Mine, but nothing like this stunning and colorful combination specimen from the 2nd Sovetskii Mine. Dramatic sprays of white aragonite needles are included in and are embedded on a striking intergrown cluster of highly desirable, very glassy, transparent to translucent, rich mint-green fluorite cubes aethetically perched on a sculptural drusy quartz matrix wedge, that includes sphalerite. The impressive large dominating cube, at 3.0 x 2.9 x 2.3 cm, hosts the largest aragonite needles. Scattered flattened nailhead calcite rhombs are a super accessory. Rich purple fluorescence. A VERY RARE and exceptional Dal'negorsk combination from the Ted Bartels Collection.
