Item Description

An impressive large multi-generational calcite with hematite from Santa Eulalia. The glassy scalenohedron grew to a certain size - then was coated with hematite - then later, began growing again, but selectively on the faces, so that on some areas there is a glassy, substantial sheet over the hematite phantom inside, and on others, the hematite-coated inner crystal is exposed. This is classic calcite from the Buena Tierra Mine, with even the cavern and mine level known. Ex Tom Wolfe Calcite Colletion. Fascinating calcite.
