Item Description

A RARE, impressive and important large emerald combination from China's most important emerald mine. A RARE, sharp, 1.4 cm, tetragonal cream-colored scheelite crystal is accompanied by aesthetically placed vivid green textbook hexagonal lustrous and translucent emerald crystals on the large quartz and schist matrix. The long crystal is 5.0 cm and the well-placed central cluster is remarkable. All of the emeralds have conatacted ends. While these emerald crystals certainly are not as gemmy as good Colombian ones, they are lustrous, translucent and have rich color. MINDAT lists scheelite for the locale, but combination specimens of this quality and size are RARE. Ghostly white scheelite fluorescence. Valued at $2-3000 for rarity, quality and size. This is one of only 3 that I have seen come out over 20 years.
