Item Description

Sylvite specimens are RARE from the historic old potash mines at Weltlingen. This is a very sharp, water-clear colorless gem thumbnail cube with nifty modified corners and satin luster faces. Complete all-around and pristine, the attachment is on the bottom of the crystal. Previously in the Scott Williams Collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 7480 and acquired from Scott in the mid-1970s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). An exceptionally sharp and rare sylvite crystal.
