Item Description

An impressive, rich and rare LARGE rhodochrosite specimen from this obscure Fe-Mn-(Pb-Zn-Ba) deposit in Kazakhstan. Rich brick-red, parallel-growth, translucent, bubbly botyroids with satin luster artistically cover the rolling sculptural hefty manganese ore matrix. The compound botryoids reach about 4.5 cm and have a beautiful rich red glow, when backlit. The rhodo crust is up to 1.3 cm thick on this exceptional large and rare specimen from the mid-1990s finds. An important and colorful large rhodo from the find and locale. 5.7 pounds or 2.6 kilos mass. Simply put, the largest in good condition, we hav epersonally seen! Valued at $2000-2500.
