Item Description

Classic material from the Total Wreck Mine featuring sparkling / drusy crystalline Mottramite of a rich black-brown color on minor host rock matrix. This obscure mine was intermittently worked from the 1880s to 1940. Beautiful to view up close, and certainly worth picking up if you collect Arizona mineral.s Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7594), and comes with a label that it was part of the 4th Annual Mineralogical Record Benefit Auction in Tucson - 1975. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
