Item Description

A VERY gemmy, sharp, well-formed, scalenohedral crystal of soft golden colored Calcite measuring 2.7 cm long sit on a matrix that plays host to small dark Smoky Quartz crystals, plus minor reddish-brown Sphalerite and Dolomite. The Calcite is not completely undamaged, but it's still very sharp and is nearly WATER CLEAR in areas. This is classic material and the Smoky Quartz association is not terribly common for these specimens. The Calcites from Elmwood will go down as some of the finest examples of the species known, and that's saying something considering the thousands of localities for the species around the world.
