Item Description

The world famous Jeffrey Mine is well known for producing some of the most iconic speicmen of Grossular Garnet from any world locality. The colors range from rich cinnamon-orange to green to colorless and even pink. This specimen hosts classic pink colored, very sharp, highly lustrous, dodecahedra of Grossular measuring up to 6 mm across and covering one side of the specimen. The reverse side of the piece is filled with small greenish-yellow prismatic crystals of Vesuvianite creating a gorgeous pink and green two-tone effect. No real damage that I can see with the naked eye, and it's certainly worth picking up if you collect thumbnails, Garnets or Canadian minerals. Keep in mind that this locality is finished, and these specimens will become increasingly difficult to obtain as they quickly disappear from the market.
