Item Description

A classic set of old time Norwegian Anatase crystals featuring very sharp, highly lustrous, semi-metallic single crystals - all of which are doubly-termianted. One of the crystal is on a small bit of matrix. When backlit, the Anatase crystals are only VERY slightly translucent, showing tiny areas of blue and golden hues. The largest crystal measures up to 1.3 cm. Good Anatase specimens from Norway are next to impossible to obtain these days, inlcluding the more recent specimens from 20 years ago, due to the fact that this famous site is protected as a natural site and collecting is strictly forbidden. These pieces date back several decades and come with a classic label from Ward's Minerals in Rochester, New York. The best of these specimens are certainly the finest Anatase specimens in the world, and they simply are stunning to view in person.
