Item Description

Scainiite is a rather rare lead antimony sulfosalt was named for Dr. Giuseppe Scaini (1906-1988), an engineer and skillful investigator of systematic and Italian mineralogy. There are only about three localities in the world where this mineral is found, i.e., the type tocality in Italy, and two localities in Slovakia. This piece is from the Ludovit Mine, which only produced a few species! This particular piece features compacted grey "fibers" of Scainiite on matrix. One of the very few pieces of this material that I have to offer, so don't miss out!
