Item Description

A very sharp, well-formed, compressed trigonal crystal of black Schorl Tourmaline from an undisclosed locality in Madagascar. The crystal is actually doubly-terminated, and nearly a complete "floater" as it only has a slight point of contact on the underside. No major damage that I can see, and a textbook crystal for anybody who likes morphology or collects worldwide Tourmalines. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10949). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
