Uvite Tourmaline on Magnesite (ex Rolando Gioia Collection)

Excellent quality, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich red color, trigonal crystals of Uvite Tourmaline on white / colorless Magnesite from the famous Brumado area in Brazil. The largest Uvite measures 6 mm, and the piece is in excellent condition all the way around. This particular color is extremely rare to find in any Tourmaline species, and these crystals glow with color when backlit. This classic combination is one of the staples from Brumado, which is essentially a large mountain filled mostly with Magnesite. This locality is the third largest open air Magnesite mine in the world.
