Item Description

Everybody is familiar with the beautiful and recognizable Amethyst specimens from Veracruz. These are some of the most examples of Amethyst in the world. This piece features a thin plate of matrix with a dusting of pistachio green Epidote hosting very sharp, highly lustrous, gemmy, purple and colorless prismatic hexagonal crystals of Amethyst measuring up to 2.0 cm. Excellent condition with only a few small nicks here and there. I really love the isolation between the crystals and the piece has good three-dimensional aesthetic appeal. Priced at $750. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6727). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
