Item Description

Pulsifer Apatites are among the most desirable and classics from any US locality. The top purple color of the best crystals is unmatched in the mineral world. This piece has softer colored Fluorapatite crystals, but it's still a Pulsifer Apatite, and they are always in demand. Sharp, lustrous, prismatic hexagonal crystals measuring up to 5 mm can be seen on the display side of the underlying matrix. Attractive up close, and a nice smaller miniature specimen for any collector of pegmatite minerals, New England minerals or worldwide Apatites. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5385). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
