Item Description

Swiss Hematites are the world standard for quality and beauty, and they are true classics. The famous locality at Cavradi has produced some of the most iconic Hematites extant. This piece features a 2.2 cm group brilliant, splendent, metallic, silvery-black colored flattened rhombic "blades" of Hematite forming a semi-"rosette" aesthetically perched atop Adularia with a few associated Quartz crystals. The Adularia crystals have formed in almost "Faden"-like layers and create a wonderful base for the top notch Hematite crystals. Excellent quality and the piece displays wonderfully as you can see. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11674). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
