Item Description
Two generations of striking, unusual, sparkly, translucent bi-pyramidal wulfenite crystals richly cover the small cabinet matrix on this showy and excellent specimen from this less well-known silver mine, near the famed Red Cloud Mine. The larger crystals on one side, to 3 mm, are a rich burnt-orange, while the smaller crystals in the larger field are brownish-orange. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 9829 and acquired in January, 1983 from the Lidstrom's. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). The piece has several fine display views. Rich, uncommon style and seldom on the market Arizona wulfenite.
