Item Description

Pyromorphite is a classic, uncommon and much desired species from the historic mines at Pribram. Two generations of juicy, translucent, apple-green hexagonal barrels richly and aesthetically cover both sides of the sturdy gossan matrix. The larger more isolated crystals on one side reach 5 mm with the striking dense coverage of gemmy crystals on the other side reach 2 mm. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1440 and acquired in 1959 from Scott Williams. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). It comes with three older German labels. Pyromorphite of this richness and quality is undoubtedly 100 years old or older and is seldom on the market.
