Item Description

This large Bolivian tin-silver mine has produced numerous world-class sulfosalt species, including andorite, Ag-Pb-Sb-S and zinkenite, Pb-Sb-S. The showy and excellent plate is covered with absolutely scintillating tiny pyritohedrons. Attractively scattered about are eight stout prismatic rippled tabular zinkenite crystals, to 1.3 cm, with dark grey color and an aesthetic 2.3 cm columnar spray of thin prismatic, steel-gray zinkenite crystals. Choice and classic combination material of these uncommon sulfosalt species from this locale. Ex Francesco Bedogne Collection. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector.
